Heron Drums

My role at Heron Drums involved streamlining the Brand and Visual Identity, as well as developing an online marketing strategy for social media and web platforms. 

 

I helped to implement the new branding by overseeing overhauls to key parts of the website, creating new social media templates for a more consistent appearance, as well as various designs for printed media ranging from product packaging to handouts.

I also became heavily involved in content creation for both social media and the online shop, taking product pictures, creating videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok, as well as instructional videos for the website.

My first tasks at Heron Drums involved streamlining the visual identity. I did this by condensing the colour scheme and fonts used, as well as helping to develop a clear vision and mission statement that would later frame our Tone of Voice and promotional Imagery going forward, in order to build a reliable relationship with potential new customers.

The main goal when speaking to our audience was to do exactly that. 

Speak to them. 

As a small business, it was important to establish that this isn't an Amazon scale operation, and every single interaction with a customer or potential customer could have a significant impact on the success of the business.

We avoided using complicated jargon or over-commercialised language when writing blogs and social media posts and instead aimed to converse with the audience, inviting them for a chat about their spiritual journey or passion for drumming.
